Privacy policy
Effective October 15, 2026.
The San Tan Scoop ("we") is a free weekly email newsletter operated by Jacob Padgett in San Tan Valley, Arizona. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Your email address when you subscribe, plus anything you choose to send when you reply.
- Signup details such as the date, the page you signed up from, and a referral code if you used one.
- Engagement data. Our email platform may record opens and link clicks, and approximate location and device data from your browser or email client.
Our email platform: Beehiiv
The newsletter is hosted and sent with Beehiiv. Your subscription data is stored and processed by Beehiiv under its own privacy policy. Beehiiv also runs the referral program tracking.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter and occasional notes about it.
- To run the referral program.
- To see which sections readers find useful, in aggregate.
- To answer your replies.
What we don't do
We don't sell your email address or personal information. Sponsors never receive subscriber lists. They may receive aggregate numbers, such as total subscribers or clicks.
This website
This site is static HTML and doesn't set its own tracking or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Your choices
- Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data by emailing hello@santanscoop.com or replying to any issue.
Children
The Scoop is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Retention and security
We keep your data while you're subscribed and for a reasonable time after, unless you ask us to delete it. We rely on Beehiiv's security practices to protect stored data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date above.
